# How do I onboard a new employee on my team?
## To seamlessly onboard a new employee with PLACE, follow these critical steps to ensure immediate access and integration into your team's business operations.
## How Do You Onboard a New W2 Employee with PLACE?
To onboard a new W2 employee with PLACE, complete five steps within their first week: (1) submit the W2 Onboarding Form, (2) create a team email, (3) add the employee to Brivity, (4) apply the Staff Onboarding Auto Plan, and (5) register them for Operations Launch.
Complete all five steps below within the new hire's first week. These steps should be completed by the team leader or administrator responsible for the new hire.
1. **Complete the W2 Onboarding Form:** Submit the [W2 Onboarding Form](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfZmuUEdCVQ1WQJXjWlKanxW8bQFwcGDCqfC9ShTWgrSgCqIg/viewform) with the new employee's name, start date, role, and contact information.
2. **Create and activate a team email:** [Add team-managed email in Google](https://www.loom.com/share/c89392a8da56488eb7042508abf32659?sid=afbbaa3b-6f3a-448c-a147-78a91e209619), or [Request an email](https://www.placehelpdesk.com/support/catalog/items/50) if your domain is managed by PLACE.
3. **Add the employee to Brivity:** Invite the employee to sign in to Brivity. Their Brivity credentials automatically grant access to PLACE resources — including shared tools, program enrollments, and a GrowthDay coaching trial — as detailed in the next section.
4. **Apply the Staff Onboarding Auto Plan:** This plan automates training tasks and ensures new hires are progressing through structured onboarding activities from their first day. To apply the plan, navigate to the employee's contact record in Brivity and select **Auto Plans**.
5. **Register for Operations Launch:** Operations Launch is PLACE's live virtual onboarding program that introduces new team members to PLACE systems, culture, and workflows. Register the employee by visiting the Operations Launch page on the PLACE intranet and clicking the registration link. Registration must be completed within the employee's first week. If you cannot locate the registration link, contact your team admin or PLACE support for assistance.
## What Happens Automatically When You Add an Employee to Brivity?
Adding an employee to Brivity automatically grants the following access, enrollments, and benefits:
- **Shared access:** Your Team Toolkit, PLACE Academy, and the PLACE intranet.
- **Program enrollment:** Enrolled in both Ops Onboarding and Brivity Foundations programs.
- **Coaching trial:** A complimentary GrowthDay trial for professional coaching and development. Trial duration is subject to change — contact PLACE Support to confirm the current offer.
- **Distribution list:** Added to the team's email distribution list for important updates and communications.
