# Business Planning 2027: Timeline, Workbook, Planning Wizard & Responsibilities
## A four-week guide for agents and Operators to build, review, and celebrate the 2027 business plan.

### Overview
Business Planning season is here. Over four weeks, agents will reflect on the past year, build their 2027 business plan in Brivity, review it with their Operator, and come together at a Team Business Planning Retreat. This article explains what happens each week, who is responsible for what, and where to find every tool you need.

### Get Ready (Before October 5)
#### Operators & Ops Leaders
1. Set your Team Defaults in Brivity ([watch the video](https://our.place.com/spaces/1/operators/articles/team-management/16945/set-goal-setting-defaults?language=en-US)).
2. Print and distribute the [Agent Preparation Workbooks.](https://our.place.com/spaces/15/productivity/files/16946/2027-agent-business-planning-prep-workbook)
3. Reserve or confirm a location for your team retreat, plus any additional items needed ([see the Retreat Planning Guide](https://our.place.com/spaces/1/operators/articles/announcements/16944/planning-your-agents-business-planning-retreat?language=en-US)).
4. Send agents a Save the Date for the retreat ([use the template](https://our.place.com/spaces/1/operators/articles/announcements/16944/planning-your-agents-business-planning-retreat?language=en-US#save-the-date-template)).
**Operator Prep sessions:** Oct 2 at 2:00 PM PT, Oct 6 at 10:00 AM PT, and Oct 6 at 1:00 PM PT.
### Week 1: Reflect & Prepare (October 5–9)
#### Agents
- Print and complete the [PLACE Business Planning Preparation Workbook](https://our.place.com/spaces/15/productivity/files/16946/2027-agent-business-planning-prep-workbook).
- Spend about 20 minutes a day on the journal prompts and pre-planning exercises.
#### Operators & Ops Leaders
- Make a copy of the [PLACE Business Planning Day Slide Deck](https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1gujzFX_b21dVHp8hxSJHmQmy8k0H2guItuWXTUKMisw/copy) and customize it with team data, success stories, and personal touches.
- Continue planning your retreat.
### Week 2: Put a Plan in Action (October 12–16)
#### Agents
- Complete your 2027 business plan in Brivity using the Goal Setting Wizard (see [How to Use the Business Planning Wizard)](https://www.brivityknowledge.com/docs/business-planning-wizard).
#### Operators & Ops Leaders
- Time-block and schedule 1:1s with each agent to review their plan next week. Before you can meet with your Agents, you need them to complete their Goal Setting Wizard in Brivity. Ensure that is done for the agent before scheduling. You can start sooner if agents finish early.
- Continue customizing the retreat slide deck.
- Finalize retreat plans and orders.
### Week 3: Review (October 19–23)
#### Agents
- Meet with your Operator to review your 2027 business plan in Brivity.
- Bring a laptop and your printed one-page business planning PDF (found in your individual Brivity account).
#### Operators & Ops Leaders
- Hold 1:1s to review each agent's plan, using the Business Plan Review Forms. This is a great retention opportunity to connect with agents about their goals.
- Finalize the retreat slide deck and print day-of workbooks and materials.
- Confirm last-minute details: food and swag secured, all agents attending.
### Week 4: Team Business Planning Retreat (October 29)
#### Agents
- Attend and fully participate in the retreat — stay focused, present, and ready to engage. Bring your printed Business Planning Retreat Workbook and your completed 2027 business plan (the one-page PDF generated in your Brivity account).
#### Operators & Ops Leaders
- Before the day: do a full run-through of your materials to plan timing and delivery — aim to complete this at least 24 hours in advance.
- Day of retreat: Deliver your content confidently, make meaningful connections with your agents, and celebrate wins while setting the tone for 2027.
### Frequently Asked Questions
#### Where do I find my one-page business plan PDF?
It's generated in your individual Brivity account after you complete the Business Planning Wizard. Navigate to your Goals settings, then look for the download or print option once your plan is saved.
#### Can I review my plan with my Operator before Week 3?
Yes. Operators may start 1:1s early if an agent finishes the plan ahead of schedule.
